One to One Therapy

We believe that therapy is a collaborative, relational journey, a journey that honours your pace, your story, and your voice. We do not seek to “fix” but to listen actively, allowing what needs to emerge to do so in its own time. Our integrative approach draws on psychodynamic and person-centred roots, layered with creative, embodied, and narrative practices that invite exploration beyond words.

Our practice is queer-focused and anti-oppressive, creating a space where identities and experiences are not just accepted, but celebrated. Curiosity is at the heart of our work: the curiosity to understand, to witness, and to make meaning together. We believe stories are more important than solutions, and that the telling of them can be a powerful act of self-recognition and liberation.

Here, queer voices and stories are given the space to exist fully — without censorship, without compromise — and to be met with empathy, respect, and genuine engagement.

Katie Merritt - She/Her

I am an integrative psychotherapist, drawing on psychodynamic and person-centred approaches within my work. My practice is queer-positive and anti-oppressive, valuing creativity as a pathway to insight and healing. With my experience as a theatre maker, I have an affinity with metaphor, colour, texture, rhythm, and musical patterns to explore narrative and what lives in the body, going on a journey to reframe childhood experiences, and offering relationally and curiosity to explore what is happening to you in the here and now.

My approach invites you to access experiences that may be difficult to put into words, using expressive and embodied methods to illuminate personal meaning and understanding. I provide a safe, affirming, and inclusive space where your identity, story, and emotions are fully seen and heard. Together, we can explore challenges, nurture a sense of self, and create grounded insights that feel transformative.

Yasmeen Brett - She/Her

With over 25 years of experience in theatre and the arts, I bring a creative and dynamic perspective to my integrative psychotherapy practice. My work centres on GSRD (Gender, Sexuality, and Relationship Diversity), neurodiversity, identity, persistent difficult feelings and significant life transitions. My approach is tailored, relational and responsive, and I am deeply committed to social justice, striving to create inclusive spaces where you can feel truly seen.

I am drawn to the challenges and complexity of what it means to be human; embracing our contradictions, considering our desires and understanding how our past influences who we are today. I recognise the profound impact that culture, community and social structures have on our lives. I provide a genuinely compassionate environment where you can explore these connections, your unique lived experience and discover more about how you relate to yourself, others and the world around you.

I welcome you to enter a safe, supportive space for your unique therapeutic process. Together we can explore what is on your mind, in an open, authentic way that includes any aspects of your experience at this moment. My practice is inclusive and welcomes people from any background and life story.

I am an integrative counsellor, which means that we can work in a way that suits your individual needs. I combine a person-centred approach to empower you to go at your own pace in your personal growth in a non-judgemental environment, and a psychodynamic approach in which we can explore how your past experiences influence the present.

I have worked in music and arts education for 20 years and believe in providing a nurturing environment which encourages each person’s uniqueness and individual path. I also work with the LGBTQ+ community, facilitating art projects and volunteering for several charities.
